Stingrays Synchronized Swimming Club
The Wynyard Stingrays are a recreational synchronized swimming team based out of the Wynyard Swimming Pool. In the past, the Stingrays have been a part of a two month season. Beginning at the start of July, Wynyard’s synchro club has normally rounded out its season in August with a provincial competition and local gala night. It is at these water shows where the athletes get the opportunity to perform technical figures, solos, duets, and team routines. Throughout July and August, the Stingrays practice from 5:15-7:15pm three times a week. Surrounded by a healthy environment and qualified coaches, the team can be found at the swimming pool practicing technical skills, becoming stronger swimmers, and having fun as they become members of a team. In 2012, Synchro Saskatchewan registered ten swimmers from the Wynyard Club. Athletes that have continued their training into the months of September and October at Humboldt’s indoor swimming pool will compete at a province-wide competition and training camp. The camp and competition will be held in North Battleford in mid-November.
