Call to Order:

Deputy Mayor Karakochuk called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

#291/18 Appoint Acting Administrator:

Prystai – that we appoint Jody Jordan as Acting Chief Administrative Officer for the May 15, 2018 Council Meeting.

Kostyk– that we adopt the minutes of the previous regular meeting of May 1, 2018 as circulated.

Prystai – that we renew our postage meter lease with Pitney Bowes at a cost of $55.09 per month.

#301/18 Local Improvement #1-18:

Prystai – that the Local Improvement Report, with respect to the proposed local improvement listed below, be adopted; that application be made under clause 5 (1) (b) of The Local Improvement Act, 1993 to the Saskatchewan Municipal Board, Local Government Committee, to undertake this work as a local improvement at an estimated cost of $11,260 to construct 147 feet of curb and gutter from Part of Lot 28, Block 2, Plan 99H08143 to Lot 26, Block 2, Plan 99H08143 and; that the land described above is especially or directly benefited by reason of this local improvement differently from or greater than that generally received by landowners in the municipality.

Jordan – that the Local Improvement Report, with respect to the proposed local improvement listed below, be adopted; that application be made under clause 5 (1) (b) of The Local Improvement Act, 1993 to the Saskatchewan Municipal Board, Local Government Committee, to undertake this work as a local improvement at an estimated cost of $13,700 to construct 126 feet of sidewalk with curb and gutter along Avenue C East from Bosworth Street to the Northeast corner of Lots 21-24, Block 16, Plan Q7104 and; that the land described above is especially or directly benefited by reason of this local improvement differently from or greater than that generally received by landowners in the municipality.

Kostyk – that the Local Improvement Report, with respect to the proposed local improvement listed below, be adopted; that application be made under clause 5 (1) (a) of The Local Improvement Act, 1993 to the Saskatchewan Municipal Board, Local Government Committee, to undertake this work as a local improvement at an estimated cost of $7,200 to construct 24 feet of sidewalk with curb and gutter along a portion of the building located on Lots 13-15, Block 4, Plan Q7104 and Lot 21, Block 4, Plan 101816456, Ext. 23 and; that the land described above is especially or directly benefited by reason of this local improvement differently from or greater than that generally received by landowners in the municipality.

Swinburnson – that the Local Improvement Report, with respect to the proposed local improvement listed below, be adopted; that application be made under clause 5 (1) (b) of The Local Improvement Act, 1993 to the Saskatchewan Municipal Board, Local Government Committee, to undertake this work as a local improvement at an estimated cost of $22,420 to construct 126 feet of sidewalk with curb and gutter from Lots 23, Block 3, Plan 99H08143 to Lot 24, Block 3, Plan 99H01843 and; that the land described above is especially or directly benefited by reason of this local improvement differently from or greater than that generally received by landowners in the municipality.

Prystai – that the Local Improvement Report, with respect to the proposed local improvement listed below, be adopted; that application be made under clause 5 (1) (a) of The Local Improvement Act, 1993 to the Saskatchewan Municipal Board, Local Government Committee, to undertake this work as a local improvement at an estimated cost of $17,330 to construct 123 feet of sidewalk with curb and gutter along Avenue B East from 1st Street East to the Northeast corner of Lots 1-4, Block 8, Plan Q7104 and; that the land described above is especially or directly benefited by reason of this local improvement differently from or greater than that generally received by landowners in the municipality.

Swinburnson – that, as recommended by the Communities in Bloom Committee, we purchase two tower planters from Shamrock Greenhouse at a cost of $375 each.

Jordan– that we authorize Fer-Marc Equipment to perform maintenance on the Zamboni at a cost of $7,816.04.

Jordan – that we authorize the replacement of the Paddling Pool boiler at a cost of approximately $7,500.

#326/18 Groundwater Delineation at Town of Wynyard Landfill:

Prystai – that we accept the groundwater delineation at the Town of Wynyard Landfill proposal from P. Machibroda Engineering Ltd. at a cost of $12,309 plus applicable taxes.

#327/18 30th Annual S.U.M.A. Golf Tournament:

Prystai – that we authorize the Chief Administrative Officer and/or Councillors to attend the SUMA Golf Tournament in Hudson Bay on July 12 & 13, 2018 at a cost of expenses.

-Avenue D from 3rd Street East to 4th Street East
