Mayor Czarnecki called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM.

Swinburnson – that we adopt the minutes of the previous meeting of May 16, 2013 as circulated.

#372/13 Acting Chief Administrative Officer Appointment:

Prystai – that we appoint Jody Jordan as Acting Chief Administrative Officer.

#373/13 Building Permit Applications:

Boylak – that we approve the following building permit applications as per the approval of the Building Inspector:

#377/13 Removal of Tax Lien:

Jordan – that we remove the tax lien on Roll #505049350 as sufficient taxes have been paid.

#378/13 Tax Levy:

Prystai – that, due to the tax levy not being processed by the end of May 2013, we instruct the Chief Administrative Officer to create a bylaw to set tax penalties and discounts with the discounts being:

Discounts: 6% if paid by July 31, 2013
5% if paid by August 31, 2013
4% if paid by September 30, 2013
2% if paid by October 31, 2013

Penalties: 10% on arrears unpaid as of December 31, 2013

Boylak – that the deadline for owners to prepay the local improvement special assessment as authorized by Bylaw #13/12 and Bylaw #25/13 be June 20, 2013.

#380/13 Extended Landfill Hours:

Babey – that we continue the extended landfill hours for the month of June 2013.

#381/13 Graduation Advertisement:

Swinburnson – that we place a congratulatory ad for the Wynyard Composite High School Graduation Class of 2013 in The Wynyard Advance Gazette.

#382/13 Council Meeting Submissions Deadline:

Boylak – that the deadline for submissions for council meetings and sending e-mails to council be referred to the General Government Committee.

#383/13 Drainage Channel:

Prystai – that we refer the subdivision inquiry of Lot 30 Block 14 Plan 99H08143 to the Public Works Committee, as there is a drainage channel on this property.

#384/13 Mayor & Recreation Office Chairs:

Prystai – that we purchase a new office chair for the Recreation Office and use bequeathed money to purchase the Mayor’s chair as was wished.

Czarnecki – that the replacement on the sidewalk on 1st Street West in front of the new condos be referred to the Public Works Committee.

#386/13 Century Family Farm Award:

Boylak – that we send a letter to Ryan and Graham Melsted acknowledging their Century Family Farm Award.

#387/13 Government Services Building Caretaker:

Swinburnson – that we award the Government Services Building caretaker tender to Ted and Cindy Sieppert at a cost of $1,100 per month.

Prystai – that we send a letter to Lonestar Oil Field Contracting Ltd. with a counter offer to lease NW 23-32-16-W2 rather than sell.
