Civic Centre Indoor Walking

Civic Centre indoor walking is unsupervised. The Town of Wynyard is not responsible for loss, damage or injury from the use of the Civic Centre during indoor walking. Use at your own risk.

Available October 1 – May 31

Walking is available M-F 11am-1pm upon request – phone the Town Office at 306-554-2123 and we will gladly open the facility for you.  

Walking is available only when the facility is not rented. Indoor walking is not be available on holidays. Since the Co-operative Place walking track has opened, walking at the Civic Centre is less popular. If the Civic Centre doors are locked when you arrive, please let the Town Office know and we will gladly open the facility.

Civic Centre Walking – Covid Rules

  1. If you are unwell, stay home.
  2. Keep 2 meters from other users.
  3. Use hand sanitizer before entering the facility.
  4. Bring and wear a mask
  5. The Civic Centre is available for walking only – please do not use this as a place to visit

Co-operative Place Walking & Running Track

Winter Track Schedule (October 19 – March 31) *Facility will close early this year (February 28th, 2021) due to Covid.

Saturday/Sunday Hours

The track will not be available for use during arena programs to comply with gathering restrictions. For information on the arena schedule, click here, phone 306-554-2591 or check the schedule posted at Co-operative Place.

Track Information

1km = 7 laps

Daily Direction:
Clockwise – Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
Counter Clockwise – Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

Track Rules

  1. Clean your shoes, stroller wheels and wheelchair wheels before you use the track.
  2. No bikes, scooters or skateboards.
  3. Slower users stay to the inside of the track and allow faster users to pass on the outside.
  4. Be considerate of other patrons and walk single file when the track is busy.
  5. Move off the track to stop and stretch, get a drink, etc..
  6. Do not prop open the lobby doors.
  7. Children ages 7 years old or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while using the track.

Track – Covid Rules

  1. If you are unwell, stay home.
  2. Maximum 15 people allowed on the track.
  3. Walk/jog/run single-file only to allow others to pass while maintaining physical distance.
  4. Keep 2 meters from other track users.
  5. Use hand sanitizer before entering the facility.
  6. Sign-in upon entering the facility (contact-tracing purposes).
  7. Bring and wear a mask.
  8. Doors between the cold and warm areas of the arena will be sanitized regularly; however, they must remain closed to maintain the cold and warm environments.
  9. Water fountains will not be available.
