Safe Driving Course for Mature Drivers
The Wynyard Recreation Board is offering a six hour safe driving course for mature drivers over the age of 50. The course will take place on Monday, January 26th from 1pm – 4 pm and Tuesday, January 267th from 9am – noon. The course will improve your awareness of traffic hazrds, help identify and correct bad habits and much more. There is no charge to attend, however a minimum of 20 people are needed to offer the course. Please register before January 22nd by calling the jRecreation Office at 554-3661.

Recreation Strategic Planning
The Town of Wynyard is hosting a Recreation Strategic Planning Session to discuss the issues that need to be addressed by the Town of Wynyard as it relates to sport, culture and recreation in our community.
This facilitator-lead session will work towards developing the community’s vision for sport, culture and recreation and determine how the Town of Wynyard’s Recreation Department can operate as effectively and efficiently as possible.
The session will take place Friday, April 3 from 7-9 pm an don Saturday, April 4 from 9am – 2pm at the Ukrainian Hall.

Wynyard Carnival Days Weekend
Wynyard Carnival Days will be June 13th, 2009. The morning will kick off with a pancake breakfast from 8 – 9:30 am followed by the parade at 10am.
The RM of Big Quill will be holding a pioneer display, along with various activities like hay rides.
The North Central Boys Baseball League will be holding their tournament during Carnival weekend.
Chicken Chariot Races will be held at 1 pm.
A horseshoe tournament will be held at 2 pm. There will be a $2 entry fee and $100 in prize money handed out.
The Flea Market will run from 11 am – 4 pm.
Fun Horse Show at 3 pm.
There will be a baking contest for the kids at 4:30 pm.
Family Dance at 9 pm.
The RM and the Carnival Committee will be having a steak supper this year with two sittings – one at 5pm and the other at 7pm. The tickets cost $10.
The supper will be followed by a family dance at 9 pm with music by Lenny Belinski.
Fireworks will take place at dusk.

Catch the Spirit Day
In conjunction with the Prairie Central District for Sport, Culture and Recreation, the Summer Kidz Program is hosting a Catch the Spirit Day on Monday, August 17. This event is designed to promote the Saskatchewan Winter Games taking place in Moose Jaw this coming February.
