  • Safe Driving Course for Mature Drivers

  • The Wynyard Recreation Board is offering a six hour safe driving course for mature drivers over the age of 50. The course will take place on Monday, January 26th from 1pm – 4 pm and Tuesday, January 267th from 9am – noon. The course will improve your awareness of traffic hazrds, help identify and correct bad habits and much more. There is no charge to attend, however a minimum of 20 people are needed to offer the course. Please register before January 22nd by calling the jRecreation Office at 554-3661.

  • Wynyard Carnival Days will be June 13th, 2009. The morning will kick off with a pancake breakfast from 8 – 9:30 am followed by the parade at 10am.
    The RM of Big Quill will be holding a pioneer display, along with various activities like hay rides.
    The North Central Boys Baseball League will be holding their tournament during Carnival weekend.

    Chicken Chariot Races will be held at 1 pm.

    A horseshoe tournament will be held at 2 pm. There will be a $2 entry fee and $100 in prize money handed out.

    The Flea Market will run from 11 am – 4 pm.

    Fun Horse Show at 3 pm.

    There will be a baking contest for the kids at 4:30 pm.

    Family Dance at 9 pm.

    The RM and the Carnival Committee will be having a steak supper this year with two sittings – one at 5pm and the other at 7pm. The tickets cost $10.
    The supper will be followed by a family dance at 9 pm with music by Lenny Belinski.
    Fireworks will take place at dusk.
